Susan Mallery, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Fool’s Gold romances, proves there’s nowhere better than Happily Inc to rekindle first love.

Silver Tesdal has a head for business and a mouth made for kissing, and banker Drew Lovato has his eye on both. But ever since he was dumb enough to let her go, she’s kept him at a distance. When the bank turns her down for a loan, Drew sees a double opportunity—he can finance her brilliant, unique idea to rock Happily Inc’s wedding industry and win back her trust.

Despite her reputation, Silver’s not as tough as she seems. Losing Drew nearly destroyed her. Still, his kisses are as tempting as his offer to invest in her business. If she can’t quite get over him, maybe she should get under him and knock him out of her system once and for all.

But her best laid plans begin to unravel as Silver finds herself falling even harder than when they were high school sweethearts. Which means that she’ll have to come clean about the secret she’s been hiding from him for years—and risk losing him forever.

Second chance anyone? What can I say about a clueless hero that has a heart of gold, but had feet of clay as a teen? That’s Drew Lovato – hometown golden boy. Or what to say about a heroine who has no idea what she is worth – to herself and others – because she has been badly…bruised is a good word…when life has knocked her down? Considering she has gotten up, brushed herself off, and made something of herself, she should be proud. Only there are some that keep reminding her which side of the tracks she came from…Drew has a lot to learn about life and Silver; most of his “schooling” comes from a pint sized whirlwind by the name of Autumn. What a fantastic journey he has! It made me smile, it made me want to smack him upside the head sometimes, and most of all it put me firmly in his corner, cheering him on. Even though he grew up with money and family prestige, he needed to face some pretty strong characters in his family in order to grow up and fight for what he wanted. And Silver… She is strong and smart and beautiful and sassy as all get-out. Underneath it all, she is still hurting from her teenage love and breakup with Drew but she has made something of herself. When she finally realizes no one can take that away from her, she opens herself to many possibilities. As with most of Ms. Mallery’s characters, there is love, and snootiness, and down-to-earthness (I know it’s not a word but it fits!), and fun, and snark. Gotta have snark. Seriously, Not Quite Over You was a great read, with ups and downs, fun and tears, but most of all, love. I really enjoyed this book and it has become one of my favorites of this author.Second Chance Romance I was so excited to return to Happily Inc. and it did not disappoint. Don't we all remember our first love. For Silver she has a lasting memory and a secret that she has kept from Drew. Silver has never felt good enough for Drew but now they have become partners in Alcohaul. Silver will soon need to divulge her secret to Drew. As their relationship heats up once again will Drew be able to get Silver to give him a second chance. Loved , loved this book of second chances. Silver is such a strong person, so use to being on her own. I love her business. Drew knows what he wants, that is Silver, and now her only needs to prove it to her, despite his mother (what a mess). Autumn, is just so darn cute!! I always love this quirky fun town, it was great catching up with previous charcters.Second chances Silver Tesdal is in integral part of the wedding industry in Happily Inc. She is smart, funny, creative and an excellent business woman. Her friends support her in her endeavor to expand.Drew Lovato works for the bank. He is the most responsible person and makes treating everyone who comes in fairly. He was also Silver's first love and the family felt she wasn't good enough for him. From her being turned down, Drew decides to loan her the money to expand. The only stipulation is that they become partners. It was fun to see them work together and start to fall in love all over again. But their past is hanging out there. Old hurts surface. Who and what can you trust? Love the weddings in this book!

How to Change Your Mind Pdf

ISBN: B076GPJXWZ
Title: How to Change Your Mind Pdf What the New Science of Psychedelics Teaches Us About Consciousness, Dying, Addiction, Depression, and Transcendence
New York Times Book Review 10 Best Books of 2018

A New York Times Notable Book

The #1 New York Times bestseller.

A brilliant and brave investigation into the medical and scientific revolution taking place around psychedelic drugs--and the spellbinding story of his own life-changing psychedelic experiences

When Michael Pollan set out to research how LSD and psilocybin (the active ingredient in magic mushrooms) are being used to provide relief to people suffering from difficult-to-treat conditions such as depression, addiction and anxiety, he did not intend to write what is undoubtedly his most personal book. But upon discovering how these remarkable substances are improving the lives not only of the mentally ill but also of healthy people coming to grips with the challenges of everyday life, he decided to explore the landscape of the mind in the first person as well as the third. Thus began a singular adventure into various altered states of consciousness, along with a dive deep into both the latest brain science and the thriving underground community of psychedelic therapists. Pollan sifts the historical record to separate the truth about these mysterious drugs from the myths that have surrounded them since the 1960s, when a handful of psychedelic evangelists inadvertently catalyzed a powerful backlash against what was then a promising field of research.

A unique and elegant blend of science, memoir, travel writing, history, and medicine, How to Change Your Mind is a triumph of participatory journalism. By turns dazzling and edifying, it is the gripping account of a journey to an exciting and unexpected new frontier in our understanding of the mind, the self, and our place in the world. The true subject of Pollan's "mental travelogue" is not just psychedelic drugs but also the eternal puzzle of human consciousness and how, in a world that offers us both suffering and joy, we can do our best to be fully present and find meaning in our lives.

The defining book of the psychedelic renaissance This book is many things. It's entertaining to say the least. Pollan takes the heavily loaded topic of psychedelics (LSD and psilocybin) and analyzes it from the compelling perspective of a 63-year-old journalist who's "not at all sure he's ever had a single 'spiritually significant' experience." Every few pages, I stopped to wonder how this old guy (sorry, Mr. Pollan) is so much more fluent on the topic than me, a 25-year-old hippie vegan. But that's exactly what makes the book so important. Psychedelics don't need to be locked in a role as mind-expanding recreational drugs for young hippies. Research suggests they can play an important role in combating mental illness, and if properly regulated, provide psychological benefits for "the betterment of well people." If there's anyone best suited to help society move past the 1960s and take a fresh, honest look at psychedelics, it's Michael Pollan. Also consider listening to his podcast with Tim Ferriss about this new book.An Amazing Book I was thrilled to learn that Michael Pollan was going to tackle the subject of psychedelics and the promising research being done by MAPS and Johns Hopkins, among others. I love his previous books. He is a skilled writer and does such a great job explaining complex topics. I got my copy one day early (thank you to Amazon's efficient delivery service). I am only partially through it, and so far it is fascinating. His recent appearance on Tim Ferriss' podcast was tremendous and is a great introduction to the book and his careful handling of the topic. The potential value for the use of psychedelics in mental health treatment must be fully explored. I hope this book helps further that exploration. An engaging and thought provoking call for investment in further research My wife Ivy and I have been avid readers of Michael Pollan's previous articles and book-length works especially those involving healthful eating and the food industry. By way of background I am a forty-something surgeon and my wife is an author and blogger with MS who has on occasion had to cope with condition-related mood issues. Without having done much research into the psychedelics other than to ensure they are indeed medically safe (as this book discusses in more detail) a couple years back we participated in several overseas guided ayahuasca (a psychedelic plant mentioned in How to Change Your Mind) sessions. Our experiences as a couple participating both to obtain hoped-for medical benefits and for, in my case, the "betterment of well people" to quote Pollan's book have been discussed online and mirror the experiences described by Mr. Pollan and by the numerous academic professionals, researchers, and patients interviewed throughout this journalistic masterpiece. To describe this further is beyond the scope of my review but we can vouch that this book is one hundred percent serious journalism and that research investment into the study of psychedelics as medications for treatment resistant psychiatric conditions and as spiritual aids for the betterment of humanity is very much needed and is well underway as described in detail in Pollan's book.As for the prosaic the book is over 400 pages and written at an advanced level and will engage the most curious of readers. The book is organized into six chapters. The first is a broad introduction to the topic of psychedelics and the second discusses psychedelic mushrooms which possess an active ingredient that is the topic of many current-era human research studies. The third chapter discusses the first wave of psychedelic research (I had no idea that in the 1950's these substances were academically studied and thought to hold great promise only for that research to be practically shut down as a result of the political upheaval of the late 60's) and is of great interest to anyone interested in the history of these substances even if one has no interest in their pharmacological effects. The fourth discusses the author's own personal experiences as a middle-aged adult with the psychedelics and he is spot-on with his fascinating first person descriptions of the experience. Finally, chapters five and six discuss current research, expected medical benefits and benefits to the well-person, the neuroscience behind the actual function of psychedelics in the brain, and proposed solutions for safely distributing the psychedelics to persons who could benefit. For many readers this book will "change your mind" about the loaded term "psychedelic" and will open you up to at least the possibility the world could be a better place if these substances could be studied with as much zeal as are other pharmaceuticals and could be offered safely for the benefit of the millions of persons worldwide suffering from conditions related to dysfunction of the mind.

Smart but Scattered Teens is just what parents need. This is a highly useful guide for improving teens' executive skills and motivating them to use the skills they already have."--Patricia O. Quinn, MD, coauthor of Ready for Take-Off: Preparing Your Teen with ADHD or LD for College"Does your teen's behavior have you tearing out your hair in frustration? Quit nagging and use this wonderfully insightful and practical book to coach your 'smart but scattered' teen for personal, educational, and social success."--William Pfohl, PsyD, past president, International School Psychology Association"I was hooked from the first chapter! This book has opened my eyes to ways to foster my son's strengths, not just criticize his weaknesses. With all the issues we battle daily, it's easy to forget the power of the positive. I'm thrilled to have a specific plan of action for targeting the skills my son needs to do better in school and become more focused and responsible."--Kim L.

"I told you, I'll do it later."
"I forgot to turn in the stupid application."
"Could you drive me to school? I missed the bus again."
"I can't walk the dog--I have too much homework!"

Now you have an alternative to micromanaging, cajoling, or ineffective punishments. This positive guide provides a science-based program for promoting teens' independence by building their executive skills--the fundamental brain-based abilities needed to get organized, stay focused, and control impulses and emotions. More Helpful for Parents (Not Meant for Professionals) I heard Richard and his son speak at a conference and enjoyed his presentation so decided to buy his book to see if it had more information that I could use with clients. I'd say the book is more 3.5 stars that 3 stars. This ok is definitely geared towards parents, and I can see how the book is written and organized with that audience in mind. As a professional, I was still able to glean some information that I could use with clients, so it wasn't a total waste. If you're a parent of a child with ADHD and are not already working with a professional to address your child's struggles, I think this book would be helpful.Excellent for Parents of Twice Gifted Children Excellent book for any parent and gifted teen who is scattered or has attention issues. This is written as a practical guide for teens and parents who need a little bit of guidance and help for their brilliant teenager who just can't quite get their life on track whether it be at school or at home. I recommend this book for anyone who has a twice gifted child.A must read for parents with teens with ADHD I've been working with my son with ADHD for ten years trying to find something that actually works. This books provides the tools to help parents work in a positive way to teach their teens skills that they lack or are weak with.

Adult Coloring Book Free Pdf

ISBN: 1945710799
Title: Adult Coloring Book Pdf Stress Relieving Animal Designs
Coloring Book for Adults Relaxation: 50 ANIMAL PATTERNS TO COLOR This adult coloring book has over 50 animal patterns and provides hours of stress relief through creative expression. It features small and big creatures from forests, oceans, deserts and grasslands. Designs range in complexity and detail from beginner to expert-level.

Nice Variety, Bold Designs I've been "in" to coloring for just under a year now, and I've come to be pretty picky when it comes to which books I want for my coloring book collection. I want books that have variety and patterns, as well as an opportunity to use splashy gel pens. This book gives you all that. It has deep, dark outlines and offers a variety of intricate patterns balanced with pages that give you chance to just color big spaces. I like that the gel pens do not bleed through to the next page; plus, I especially like that there no pictures to color on the back sides of the picture pages. This makes it even easier to prevent bleeds on to the next picture. I also especially like that this "adult" coloring book does NOT come with adult language or sexual innuendoes. I think everyone should be able to have a book they like, so if others like that type of theme, I'm fine with it. I just wanted to let others know that if you're like me, you won't find that in this book labeled "adult." While I'm not fond of pages that have an over-abundance of black-and-white pre-shading, this book at least doesn't go overboard in the quantity of pre-shaded pages. In all, this is a 5-star book that I would recommend to anyone. I received a sample of this product in the mail for my honest, unbiased review.Love, love, love this book!!! I wanted something that I could just pick-up and put down as time permitted. I was working on the paint by numbers, but you can't just walk away without putting the paints away and cleaning up any mess. The pictures in this book are brilliant!! Who ever designed them also gets 5 stars!! You can get as detailed and creative as you want - or not.I purchased the Crayola twistable colored pencils in the 30 pack and find that they work very well with the book.Stress relieving I bought this book along with some colored pencils because I had a few friends try it and say it really helps. And it does! Even after 10 minutes I felt better and less anxious. The pictures turn out beautifully with any type of color chosen for the pictures. I love animals so I thought this book in particular would be best for me.
